So, Chick is a big fan of T.V. She loves it, and I used to love that she loves it because it gave me an a break to do something without her wanting me during the day. BUT it's gotten out of hand! She is throwing huge fits when I turn the T.V. off. And when I tell her we're going to go outside and play at the playground she screams, "Noo outside!!! T.V!!! (When she says T.V. is sounds like T.B.) And when I say throws big fits I'm talking about how she throws stuff. Hard....She has a really good arm.
I say, "No, sorry...no t.v....let's go color! Or play oustide!"
She says, "T.V. please....Barney? Einsteins? Big Bird? Boots? Diego?"
"No Sweetie...no t.v."
Then it used to be the screaming starts and throwing stuff begins...but Hatcher hid the videos. Today she went to go get her videos out and she noticed they were gone...
She gave out a big "Oh no! Videos all gone!" And just closed our t.v. door and asked for her cereal. For some reason hiding the videos and seeing that they were gone just worked. Go figure.
I let her watch 30 min of T.V. in the car while I was driving today and I thought she lost control of her body because she was so excited that her arms were flying everywhere. I took out the portable player without telling her before hand that I had it and she totally freaked.
"T.V.!!!!!!! OH MAMA!!! TANK TU!!! TANK TU!!!!" (huge GASP as it begins to play) "BAAARNEY MAMA!!!!" "TANK TU MAMA!! I LUB YOU!" If she hadn't been strapped in the car seat I'm confident that she would have kissed me. Then she watched the whole 30 min with a huge smile on her face and LOL at all the jokes.
That's a pic of her stealing a glimpse as I was converting some home videos onto our computer on Sunday. She was craving t.v. this bad that she just stared and stared at the video recording (it didn't even have sound!)

Oh! That is too funny! If she goes through any more withdrawls, just bring her over here. The constant noise and excitement at RaRa's house can certainly distract her!!

Oh my gosh, how funny!!!!!!! I know what you mean. It took me 30 min to pry Jocelyn away from Dora today to take her nap. HUGE fits! Oh man, the terrible twos!!!

Thanks for the laughs about the T.V. episode, I didn't know she was so attached. . .but wow she really says "thank you momma"? now THAT is impressive. i'd let her watch all day just for that.

I love that picture! I wish I was an amazing photographer and get amazing pics of Landon! Landon's not at that age yet where he pays attention to the TV. He just learned to turn it off recently which gets a reaction from us!!! He thinks it's the funniest thing ever.

I am totally cracking up! That is hilarious that she loves tv so much, but then when you hid the videos it seemed to not even phase her anymore! I may have to use that trick once Matthew gets older!

I loved this post and sorry it's taken me so long to comment. You were my inspiration and I tried a no TV day...although today I'm totally doing it the opposite and having an all TV day since I'm at home by myself with the two girls! :)
