Hatcher has been working non stop on his application for his orthopedic residency. It will be an awesome accomplishment for him to get it in!! He's on ortho rotation right now, then starts an away rotation in Arizona at the end of September. He'll be in AZ for a month and then goes straight to the U of U for an away rotation there. I won't be going to AZ with him, but am going to Utah.
Chick had the best 3rd birthday ever. My dad came in town and Hatcher took her to Busch Gardens (just the two of them) on her birthday and she was thrilled. She was so incredibly happy the whole weekend.
Her birthday started at the YMCA. Ruth runs the nursery and was a pre-school teacher in South America. She calls Chick her "daughter" and loves her. Everytime Chick goes she either teaches her spanish words, makes a craft with her, or dances the salsa (Chick's gotten pretty good). She threw a birthday party for Chick from money out of her own pocket...I love this woman!
Ruth made sure that Chick's YMCA friends were all there when she threw the party
Ruth made these masks and Chick's princess hat the night before the party
That's Ruth and the confetti sign that she made for Chick!
After all the kids sang happy birthday to Chick, Ruth had her serve all the other kids popcorn (and Chick got the leftovers)
Chick opened her birthday presents after they got home from Busch Gardens...she liked the Princess memory game from Nana the best and was super mad (on the right) that we wouldn't let her take it with us to dinner
Her Polly Pocket splash set was her "big gift"
Her birthday party was the day after her birthday...she was so excited all her friends were coming over and that she got balloons.
After Hatcher lit the candles she turned to the group of her friends and their parents and said, "Now you can sing for me!" and led them in song.
She loved getting to play with her grandpa on her birthday!
I forgot to mention that my highlight of Chick's birthday was the chicken salad I made for her party, it was a hit! Here's the LINK.
EVERY single picture you post is a joy to look at. I miss sitting at your computer looking at all the raw images from whatever shoot you were working on...
Happy Birthday to our favorite 3 year old named Vanessa! We miss her tons! I'm happy to hear she had such a special day.
So much to comment on! Love the YMCA party, her expression at not being able to take her game with her, her beautiful pics with the balloon, her expressions with your dad...love it all! Love that girl and love you too!
My husband and I have been married for 9 years and have 2 beautiful daughters, ages 6 and 2 years old. We enjoy watching them being cute (which is always) and love living on the east coast. My husband is doing great in his orthopedic residency program at Penn State Hershey Med, and I love being a mom & photographer.
