A Parenting Success!

Hatcher and I accomplished a HUGE feat last week....we got Chick off the binky!!!!!!!  We've been saying for months that we need to take it away from her since she's all grown up.  We were at "Lolli's" house last weekend for "Twizzler's" baptism.  My parents were in town you can see pictures of my dad tossing Chick around on Lolli's blog here and hanging out with all the kids here.  (In case you don't know Lolli is my sister and she has an awesome blog with amazing pictures, hilarious stories about my 5 nieces and nephews, and cool give-aways so you should follow it!)

While we were at Lolli's house we lost the binky!  We could get Chick to bed pretty easily at night without it, but during the day it was tough at nap time.  For a few days straight I would sit during her nap time and listen to her cry for 2 hrs in her crib instead of sleep!  But she's over it finally....no more crying at nap time!  I really haven't felt so proud of myself as a mother in a while.  I just CAN'T believe that she really doesn't use it anymore.  Now that we're on a roll we need to get her potty trained....(just kidding, I'm not that cocky).

I got hit SO HARD by the stomach flu this weekend.  I didn't sleep the entire first night because I was so sick (although I did pass out a few times on the bathroom floor...and that's saying a lot since I'm a princess whose back requires a firm mattress complete with pillow top every night).  Hatcher got so worried about me that he almost took me to the hospital (I couldn't even keep WATER down and lost 4 lbs in the first 24 hrs of this flu).

When Chick woke up (Hatcher left for work before 5am) I opened the cupboards and threw some boxes of cereal at her and collapsed on the floor again.  She sat and pulled at my hair begging me to get up and get her a bowl, spoon, and milk.  I woke Carley up at 7am and told her I needed emergency all day babysitting and she pulled through for my poor little girl.  I'm almost completely back to myself but I learned an important lesson....GET YOUR FLU SHOT EVERY YEAR!!!!

Here's some pictures of my gorgeous little girl without her binky!

Aww I'm sorry you were sick. I wish I would've know so I could've brought you some soup or something! I didn't get a flu shot either, so I'm just crossing my fingers instead.

p.s. I LOVE Nessa's hair in those pictures.

Sophia has those same cute pjs. Beautiful photos.

I noticed you use photo bucket for you pics. I want to start doing that because I noticed blogger washes out the pics. How do you resize for web or what size do you use?

P.S. Nice work with the binki...I'm proud of you...but really, you should be proud of me...I almost revert back and gave her the binki while she was at my house that day...I resisted and made her cry herself to sleep though, that's how much I think of her mommy! :-)
Good job, with that one though. That was a big milestone. When you figure out the potty thing, let me know. I'm debating on that one myself.

Cutest pics! Great job with the binky! Someday we'll be brave enough to try it and we'll need your tips. :)
