Did You See Me on TV?!

While you were watching inauguration, did you see me & Hatcher?! We were there!! Ok, so were 2 million other people so you probably didn't see us....but here are the pictures to prove that we really went.

We weren't planning on going, but we decided last minute when we realized we could just walk there from our apartment. And Hatcher had gotten the day off because no one could get into the city. They closed all the freeways and bridges, so we just walked right into town.

So how was it?? Cold. I have NEVER been so cold in my life. I had all my ski gear on, plus two pairs of pants and two pairs of socks and I still was FREEZING. And the wind chill on my face gave me what looked like a sun burn for the rest of the day. It. was. so. cold.

It was cool (no pun intended) to be around so many people and so much energy! Everyone was SO PUMPED. It got kind-of creepy when everyone started chanting O-BAM-A, and it was weird how no one in the crowd knew any of the government officials...but were totally excited and freaking out to see Beyonce and P-Diddy.

I'm so happy I went and so glad that Hatcher had the day off!

Here we are walking on the closed Memorial bridge! How cool is that?!

We got to the Mall around 8:30am, so over 3 hrs to go until inauguration and that's how many people were already on the Washington monument hill...needless to say it got WAY more crowded.

Here's the view from our spot on the mall (remember that we were there 3 hrs early and this is how close we got)...and I was on top of Hatcher's shoulders. You can hardly even see the capital in this picture.

Everybody had flags....except for us....I don't know where they all got them!

We tried to beat the crowd by leaving when Obama started talking but they had closed the sidewalks so no one got out....it got pretty scary when all the crowds were pushing to get out!

I thought of you guys actually while I was watching the inaguration! Who watched Vanessa? I was thinking that maybe you wouldn't have gone since it was so cold! That would've been cool to go to even though I didn't vote for him!

Thanks for taking our picture by the Washington Monument. Don't we look awesome?

I agree 1,000% -- it was COOOOOLD! The walking there part was okay -- your blood was at least pumping, but the standing part was brutal and FREEZING!

So fun though, right? And as usual, you're pictures are PHENOMENAL! Teach me, oh amazing one. ;)

Yeah, where WERE all the flags?! I love how in the picture of you and me and Dan, you look the best. Dan and I are all squinty. Is it a photographers trick?:) Or maybe you just have exceptionally strong pupils. Thanks for letting me come!! It was so much fun:)
