We Made It to the Roll!

This weekend we went to Cooperstown (to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame) and then spent Easter morning with my sister and her family. When I got back to Arlington I picked up Easter Egg Roll tickets from a girl that found me on Craigslist, so we went this afternoon!

We left for the metro at 9:30am and got to the White House by 10:30, and then we waited in line for 2 hours to get into the lawn. So by then it was already half way through our time slot of 11:30 - 1:30pm, so we only had one hour left and every activity on the lawn had a HUGE line to participate. Luckily they had performances that weren't as popular so we stayed busy and happy. Chick would have been happy being there for the first 30 minutes, but then I pushed her to stay the whole time and she was SO TIRED when we left.

Chick got her special White House Easter Egg (people collect them since they are different each year) and within seconds she had thrown it onto the street since she was so grumpy and tired, lol. I gave it back to her and she threw it again. I just thought it was funny since people are so serious about the eggs and ours was all scratched up so fast.

This princess came to say hello while kids were waiting in line. Chick LOOOOVED her and was so excited to see that she was wearing the same shoes that she was.

Her favorite part of the day was the jump rope area. You can't see her but she totally ditched me to and weaseled her way up to the front.

She was also SO OBSESSED with this egg chair. You had to wait in line forever to sit in it and more than once she cut in line and just climbed in. I'd hear, "Whose kid is this?!" and I'd go running. ; )

You made it! The pictures look adorable! I love the picture with the princess and the shoes. I'm sad that we couldn't have been there together. I'm sure my kids would have cheered her up in line (unless they were fighting with each other, which is entirely possible!) I'm so sad that they changed everything so much this year. :(

I'm so glad you got to go. Your photos are great. Sophia also loved the egg chair, she didn't want to get out of it. We waiting 90 mins. to get in and then had about 90 to wander around. So crazy, but worth the it.

haha, I love that you acted like she wasn't your kid when she cut in line, hilarious. Your photos are so beautiful, I especially love the princess pictures. I'm glad you got to go, especially after your whole TV news moment! :) Looks like next year I'll have to play die-hard in front of the computer for 6 hours straight to get our man in!
